Customize Your Tune

Factory Settings

Your vehicle's computer is programmed from the factory with conservative calibration tables designed to meet emissions targets across all operating conditions, in all climates, with all fuel qualities.
As a result, manufacturers deliberately leave performance on the table.
A tune modifies these tables to optimize the combustion process — advancing injection timing where beneficial, increasing boost pressure within safe mechanical limits, adjusting fueling curves, and raising torque limiters.
As a result: 15–30% more horsepower, 5–15% better fuel efficiency, and smoother power delivery.
These are not contradictory — a more efficient combustion event produces both more power and less wasted fuel.
As a result, our custom tunes are designed to deliver all three benefits — increased horsepower, better fuel efficiency, and greater mechanical performance leading to less wear and tear and longer engine life.
We understand that one size doesn't fit all vehicles or situations, and we are here for it! Race tunes, Burble Tunes, Pops and Bangs Tunes, etc. which add performance at the cost of fuel efficiency and/or longevity of mechanical parts are all available by request.

Vehicle Condition

A custom tune from Dynamic Tuning Specialists is the cherry on top of your ride. But if your vehicle is not mechanically sound, we won't be able to tune it properly, so it's important that you aren't currently experiencing any check engine lights, misfires, fluid leaks, or unusual sounds — and that you're current on your manufacturer's recommended maintenance.
If your vehicle is found un-tuneable due to pre-existing conditions, the deposit will be applied to the diagnostic time.

Prior Tunes

Attempting to tune a vehicle that has been previously tuned can carry additional risk — unknown base files, residual calibration values, and potential for bricked ECUs.
If your vehicle has been previously tuned, you must identify the prior tuner and any known modifications.
DTS will not assume liability for issues stemming from prior tuning work.

Current Modifications

Your custom tune will be calibrated specifically for your vehicle's current hardware configuration — including any aftermarket parts like intakes, exhausts, turbos, or injectors. It's essential for us to know what's on the vehicle to tune it properly.
Any subsequent hardware changes after the tune may require a retune at additional cost.

Ghost Codes

Tuned ECUs may produce diagnostic trouble codes that do not affect drivability known as "Ghost Codes" — these are security alerts generated when the ECU goes offline during the flash process and other vehicle modules log communication faults.
Ghost codes (phantom DTCs) are not a DTS-specific issue — they are a well-documented, industry-wide occurrence that can happen even during factory dealer reflashes.
Initial code clearing is included in the service. Troubleshooting persistent or recurring ghost codes after the vehicle leaves may require additional fees and are handled on a case by case basis.

Deposit & Cancellation

A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your appointment. The deposit is credited toward your final invoice.
Cancellations within 48 hours of your appointment forfeit the deposit.
One reschedule is permitted; a second reschedule requires a new deposit.

All Sales Final

All sales are final once flashing begins. Custom tuning is a service — once the work has been performed, it cannot be refunded.
If you are unsatisfied with your tune, DTS will restore your vehicle to its original stock calibration for no additional charge.

Terms & Conditions

Warranty Impact

ECU tuning may affect your vehicle's manufacturer warranty. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot void your entire warranty solely because of an aftermarket modification — they must prove that the specific modification caused the specific failure. However, if the tune modifies engine parameters and the engine itself fails, the manufacturer has a stronger argument connecting the modification to the failure. DTS is not responsible for denied warranty claims.

Liability Waiver

Customer acknowledges that ECU tuning increases stress on engine and drivetrain components beyond manufacturer specifications and voluntarily assumes all associated risks. Customer releases Dynamic Tuning Specialists, its owners, employees, and agents from liability for damages arising from the negligence of DTS in connection with ECU tuning services. Liability is capped at the amount paid for the specific service.

As-Is Disclaimer

All tuning services are provided "as-is" with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. DTS excludes all indirect, incidental, consequential, and punitive damages.

Emissions Compliance

DTS does not offer services that remove, bypass, or disable factory emissions controls. Customer is responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local emissions laws.

Scope of Work

The tune is calibrated for the vehicle's current configuration at the time of service. Any subsequent hardware changes (intake, exhaust, fuel system, boost modifications) may require a new tune at additional cost. Post-service support applies to the delivered tune configuration only.

Un-Tuneable Vehicle

If the vehicle is determined to be un-tuneable in its current condition due to pre-existing mechanical or electrical issues, the deposit is forfeited to cover diagnostic time.

Previously Tuned Vehicles

DTS accepts no liability for issues arising from prior tuning work performed by other shops or individuals, including but not limited to corrupted calibrations, unknown base files, and bricked ECUs. Additional diagnostic fees may apply.
